Don't Do Knee Liposuction Until You Read These Important Facts

Did you know that there are also a good percentage of people who undergo knee liposuction? You may have heard of liposuction done on the abdomen or the thighs, but knee liposuction has gradually gained popularity after presenting with impressive results.

Knee liposuction is more common among women compared with men because they benefit it the most especially when wearing dresses, skirts or shorts. The procedure enhances the leg line and generally makes the leg area more in shape. A rather bulky-looking leg would disrupt the form and flow of the extremities.
Physicians claim that the fat deposition around the knee area is mainly due to genetics. This means that no amount of exercise and diet can make it go away. This is why knee liposuction is the only answer to improve this problem.

The best candidates for this procedure are those individuals who are within 25% of their recommended weight. Their skin should also have good elasticity to rebound after surgery.

Knee liposuction is a very delicate procedure that needs a careful eye for detail in order to avoid ending up with a deformed knee due to over suctioning. This is more complicated than the other procedures because this area has relatively less fatty tissues. For this case, a smaller cannula would be used in order to target specific areas of the knees.

A local anesthetic is often used to numb the knees, which would also allow you to have the consciousness to do some knee bend and stretching that is necessary for the procedure. The fats are suctioned while bending your knee and the surgeon would regularly check how it looks like by letting you straighten it forward. This will guide him on how much to suction and how much to leave off. Remember not all the fats in your knee are suctioned out. It should only be enough to create a shaped and balanced appearance.

Also for this procedure you need to ascertain that you choose a highly skilled surgeon with good experience. Ask for photographs about previous patients or ask around for recommendations, especially from satisfied clients. The more experience your doctor has the less chances of having it done unsatisfactorily.
The risk however of this procedure being it done so close to the knees is injury to the delicate tissues surrounding it.

There are no major side effects from knee liposuction aside from the usual pain, bruising and discomfort in the following hours. However this can be relieved by prescribed analgesics and you also need to have adequate bed rest to avoid straining. Because the knees are important structures for support and movement, you should avoid any strenuous activity or sports, weeks following the surgery to help it recuperate.

Knee liposuction can be a little costly considering the difficulty of the procedure and the proper techniques that needs to be employed. Aside from that you need to consult your doctor whether you are indeed a good candidate for it.

A knee liposuction may help your legs to be well in shape, but proper maintenance through diet and exercise can make it look even better.
